IN THIS SECTION
The BEST way to get better is to play with a PURPOSE!
Early in your Rocket League career, and we are thinking the first few hundred hours, you should be focused on the mechanics mentioned in the previous section. You should be able to dip into the easier mechanics in following chapters, like wave dashing and half flipping, however, I want to STRESS that your movement on the field, getting the touch on the ball that you INTENT to get, and recovering and rotating should be the top priority!
This section will detail how you can build habits to jumpstart your progression into the ranked atmosphere. Using free play to hone your car and ball control early and often is key. The video for this section details how a new player should train and what to keep in mind when training. Just logging on and jumping into 3v3 matches will be fun, sure, but if you want to get better you’ll need to dedicate more time to training than you spend in game.
Focusing primarily on:
driving basics
turning and powersliding
jumps and flips
This section is not about flashiness, but rather building a solid foundation that will be trained every time you pick up your controller.
